Italian "Orecchiette" with broccoli

A vegetarian pasta typical of the South of Italy. Broccoli are one of the healthiest vegetables around so this pasta is perfect to indulge but in an healthy way. The chili, garlic and extra-virgin olive oil, complement this healthy pasta. Made with only 5 ingredients! —Claudia Armani

Ingredients
  • 1 broccoli floret
  • 160 gr Orecchiette pasta
  • 2 garlic cloved ( peeled)
  • Dash of dried chili flakes
  • 2-3 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil
Directions
  1. Wash the broccoli and let them steam for 4 min.
  2. In the meantime peel the garlic and break it in half, and place it in a non-stick pan with the olive oil and the chili flakes, and let it warm at low heat for 1 min, making sure not to burn the oil or the garlic.
  3. When the broccoli are ready chop them up roughly and place them in the pan, and let them sautee' in the pan for a few minutes.
  4. In the meantime let the pasta cook in a pot of salted boiling water, according to the packet instructions.
  5. When ready and "al dente" drain the pasta and place it in the pan with broccoli. Let it sautee' with the vegetables for 1 min, stirring well. The "orecchiette" are ready!
