Author Notes
This is a recipe, not really very common in Greece or elsewhere, but it's a delicious food though, and easy to cook.
-Four big potatoes for pure
-Three fresh tomatoes
-Three spoonful of butter (for pure)
-One cup fresh milk for pure
-Two midium size green peppers
-Three tablespoonful olive oil
-One teaspoon of salt, and one teaspoonful of sugar
-One small or medium size red pepper (optional)
-One tin of half tin of mushrooms for sauce (optional)
-One small cup of red wine.optional or not
-One small onion
PREPARATION
A)We peel the potatoes and put them in a casserole to boil well; when done we blend them in mixer, but adding the milk and butter successively, till it's well done. Then we add some salt also; thus puree is ready.
B)Sauce: We cut the tomatoes in small pieces and blend them well, till they become juice. Then we put them in a small casserole and add green and red peppers, cut to very small pieces, We do the same with mushrooms. We add salt, sugar, the onion cut to small pieces, and we also add two-three spoonful olive oil and mix well, by letting it get boiled for almost twenty minutes, so as to get well done. Five minutes before the end we add the wine.
-We have left the pure in the meantime old, and then we spread the tomato sauce, and it's ready to eat. If we want we put some grained cheese on it. We mix further the whole mix, and it makes a delicious food. We serve with cold beer, —Aikaterini Katapodi
