What You'll Need
  • Making dhokla batter:
  • 4 tablespoons Rava (Semolina)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 2 tablespoons Curd
  • Pinch Baking soda
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1 piece Green Chilies, Optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon Turmeric Powder, Optional
  • Cooking Spray/Oil To Grease
  • Making the tempering:
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • Curry Leaves
  • 1 piece Whole Red Chili, Optional
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  1. Making dhokla batter:
  2. Take a ceramic mug, brush it with oil or cooking spray.
  3. Add 4 tbsp of Rava, 2 tbsp of curd, salt to taste, ¼ tsp of ginger-garlic paste, 1 finely chopped green chili, and a pinch of baking soda in the mug. Adding turmeric powder is optional. Give it a stir.
  4. Then add water to make the batter creamy in texture. The batter should have a pouring consistency. Mix everything well.
  5. Microwave it for about 1 minute and 30 seconds. Keep it aside.
  1. Making the tempering:
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a small pan. Once, the oil is hot, add ⅛ tsp of asafoetida, ¼ tsp of mustard seeds, and some curry leaves. Adding 1 whole red chili is optional. Let it pop and then pour it on top of the dhokla to enhance the flavor. Your Instant Rava Dhokla is ready to serve.
