What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • For the cocktail:
  • 1 part Basil Hayden® Kentucky Straight Bourbon
  • 3/4 part strawberry puree
  • 1/2 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 part Aperol
  • 1/4 part Luxardo
  • Sparkling wine
  • 1 splash soda water
  • Fresh orange slice, for garnish
  • For the strawberry puree:
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
Directions
  1. For the cocktail:
  2. Combine the Basil Hayden® Kentucky Straight Bourbon, strawberry puree, lemon juice, Aperol, and Luxardo in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously to combine.
  3. Fine-strain the cocktail into a Champagne flute.
  4. Top off the drink with sparkling wine and a splash of soda water. Garnish with a fresh orange slice and serve.
  1. For the strawberry puree:
  2. Combine the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool slightly. Puree the ingredients in a blender and strain into a container. Let cool completely and store in the refrigerator.
