Ingredients
-
1/4 cup
all-purpose flour
-
1/4 cup
cocoa powder
-
1/2 cup
teaspoon baking soda
-
1/4 cup
teaspoon salt
-
1/2 cup
unsalted butter (softened at room temperature)
-
1/2 cup
granulated sugar
-
1/2 cup
brown sugar
-
1
large egg
-
1 cup
teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1/2 cup
cup chocolate chips (you can choose dark, milk, or white chocolate)
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Prepare a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
-
In another large bowl, use an electric mixer or a hand mixer to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and continue to mix until well combined.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
-
Stir in the chocolate chips using a wooden spoon or a spatula until evenly distributed.
-
Place the dough in the refrigerator and chill for 15-20 minutes to firm it up a bit for easier shaping.
-
Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into small pieces. Use your hands to gently flatten each piece to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
-
Use cookie cutters to press the dough into desired shapes, then place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
-
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are slightly golden.
-
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
