What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cup chocolate chips (you can choose dark, milk, or white chocolate)
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Prepare a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, use an electric mixer or a hand mixer to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and continue to mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips using a wooden spoon or a spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Place the dough in the refrigerator and chill for 15-20 minutes to firm it up a bit for easier shaping.
  8. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into small pieces. Use your hands to gently flatten each piece to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  9. Use cookie cutters to press the dough into desired shapes, then place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
  10. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are slightly golden.
  11. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
