There's something incredibly pleasing about an ice cream cone topped with two perfect scoops. To achieve this, you'll need a sturdy, well-designed tool. This hand-finished scoop is our favorite—it's got a nicely sculpted handle, plus the metal body helps conduct heat from your hand to the ice cream for easy scooping.

A lot of thought and research went into its design—it was originally dreamed up by the Vice Dean of Innovation at the Wharton School (an ice cream fanatic), and transformed into reality by a team of designers at LUNAR, one of the top design firms in the world. Their aim was to create a beautiful tool that has the same lasting value as heirloom tools passed down from older generations. And they've succeeded—Belle-V's scoop won a silver International Design Excellence Award.

It's a single-use tool that we couldn't do without (our tip: it turns out beautifully shaped cookies and scones if you use it to scoop the dough).
