We’re inclined to think all of Staub’s pans are perfect, but we’re especially enamored of this wok-shaped one. It’s just as aces at braising, roasting, and simmering as the Staub pots you know and love, but the pan’s wide, angled shape also makes it ideal for large-batch deep frying, and vigorous stir-frying without spilling. Between batches, rest your foods on the included stainless steel rack—the oil drips right back into the pan and saves you from the plate-paper towel draining combo. The included snug-fitting glass lid keeps moisture locked in and also lets you easily check on your food without disturbing the cooking process, and the cast iron bottom means the pan works with any heating surface (including induction). That’s pretty perfect to us.

Meet the Maker
It's hard to look at the French company's picturesque cast iron and ceramic wares and not daydream about the *magnifique* things you'll make in them. Staub specializes in enameled cast iron cookware made in Alsace, which makes for superior browning and heat retention (perfect for those hours-long braises). The pieces work hard, but they’re pretty enough to go straight from stovetop/oven to the table. They take on a variety of shapes and colors, but we're partial to the cocottes with a deep blue hue and brass knobs exclusive to our Shop.View Full Profile
