I orgianlly posted this to fbook, under the notion we could correspond there. My go-to, go-for-the-soul recipe is my skillet burger. Made with 1/3lb 92%lean beef, I season each hand-formed patty with sea salt & onion powder. Cooked on high til' medium-rare w/no poking or stabbing, removed, covered, & rested for 30sec. Brioche buns are flash toasted under broiler, then layered w/burger, tomatoes, & onion jam(can be store bought). Serve w/pickle & baked carrot fries. Pair w/ice cold glass bottle of A&W rootbeer.

My go to comfort recipe is Pasta white sauce and whatever fresh veggies I have: roasted tomatoes, squash, mushrooms, kale, etc. Maybe some olives and a little chicken tossed in. Grated cheese on top. Salad w homemade balsamic dressing. Warm, wholesome, and delicious!

This allrecipes recipe JP's Big Daddy Biscuits. They're perfect with added vanilla and lemon zest.

One go-to recipe that is good to my soul (and my entire family's) is pork ribs and sauerkraut served with rye bread & butter.

Oozy, creamy scrambled eggs always soothe my soul. Three eggs swirled into butter and silky creme fraiche, cooked gently, and spooned over golden toast - brioche, English muffin - no matter. Topped with a snip of chives if I'm feeling fancy. It never fails.

My go to good for the soul recipe has to be Pork Lau Lau with poi and Lomi Lomi salmon with a little chunk of sweet potato on the side. I grew up and now live in Hawaii, but for the years I was away, I CRAVED this on grey New England days when I would miss home and the salty-sweeet, earthy flavors of Hawaii.

Without a doubt roast chicken! My grandmother often made it when we came to visit. She roasted it slowly at a low temperature so it fell off the bones but still had delicious crispy skin.

Sweet matzo brei inspired by my boyfriend's mother. One year for Easter, she tried to cure my homesick blues with a passover friendly brunch for her Jewish boys and myself. I adapted my version from hers to include tangy orange juice and lots of aromatic, sweet spices. We dust it with powdered sugar. It's a year round staple.

Pasta Lemonada. My mom always made it for me growing up when I had a rough day, or a good day and it's still my ultimate comfort food. Tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil-- simple and delicious!

One of my favorite soul satisfying recipes is chicken with scallion dumplings from Canal House Cooking. It's easy enough to put together quickly on a weeknight and is easily adaptable to include other seasonal vegetables for a chicken stew without the dumplings.

My go to good-for-the soul recipe is linguine with white clam sauce from Guiliano Hazan. I like to serve it with Roasted, Spiced, Almond-y Cauliflower, which is an adaptation of a Melissa Clark recipe made by Nicholas, a Food52 reader/writer. That cauliflower goes so well with this pasta, it defies description. Followed by Ciao Bella Blood Orange Sorbet and a little glass of limoncello, you can imagine yourself to be perched on a hill in Sicily overlooking the Strait of Messina
