Good news for fungus lovers: Pinterest has released its 100 Pinterest trends for 2019, and topping the food section are none other than mushrooms.
The report, which is based on the volume of searches per keyword term over the past six months, is full of exciting foodstuffs, from oxtail to jam to chayote, an apple-sized member of the squash family.
Without further ado—can we get a drumroll on a well-baked bread boule, please?—here are Pinterest's top 10 food trend predictions for 2019:
1. The mighty mushroom
According to Pinterest, "nutrient-packed mushrooms are springing up everywhere from coffee drinks to chocolate bars," with searches for "mushroom recipes" up 64%.
2. Inspired infusions
The report predicts a continued interest in infused waters and other non-alcoholic drinks in 2019—like, those with digestive and/or anti-inflammatory benefits—noting that searches for "ginger water" are up 353%.
3. Move over almond milk
Apparently, we're not the only ones swooning over alt-milks. Pinterest says searches for "oat milk" are up 186%.
4. Recipes you knead
Searches for "baking bread" have increased by 413%, says the report, which bodes very well for us (hi carbs, love you!).
5. Going pegan
According to Pinterest, searches for "eating pegan"—aka, part paleo, part vegan—are up by 337%.
6. Amazing graze
Pinterest predicts that family-style feasts—which users search for as "grazing tables," up by 163%—will be a focus in 2019.
7. Din tin tin
"Foil pack dinner recipes are perfect for busy cooks: Low-prep, low-mess, super flavorful," says the report. Searches for "foil pack dinners" have increased by 209%.
8. Pin the oxtail
Oxtail made the cut for Pinterest's next-year-trend predictions, after searches for "oxtail recipes" rose by 209%.
9. Jam on it
Pinterest users have been searching for "homemade jam" in droves—it's up 829%—which means we'll have something to slather all over our 2019-trending bread.
10. Pass the chocho
Chayote (or “chocho”) is about to have a big moment—searches for this versatile gourd are up 76%.
