Today's the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! To celebrate, we wanted to let you know how we're making eco-friendlier choices all around. Now that we’re spending more time at home, our daily habits look a little different—cooking more, ordering out less, trying to keep waste to a minimum. But we're going further, too:

  • We're committed to making sure 50% of our new recipes this year are meatless. So far in 2020, we're right on track.

  • We've launched a exclusively vegetarian IGTV show: Brinda Cooks the Books. Also: We've brought back the beloved monthly column on all things vegetables—The New Veganism, from plant-based recipe developer Gena Hamshaw.

  • In the Shop, we're spotlighting makers with sustainable products—like LSA’s handblown glassware, which is made from 100% recycled glass.

  • As for Five Two—our very own line for kitchen, home, and life—we’re working towards removing virgin plastic from our packaging and prioritizing sustainable products like our silicone straws and lids.

We’re not perfect, but we’re taking thoughtful steps in the right direction. And this is just the beginning.

I love the direction you plan to take, this day forward. I myself have not eaten meat almost 9 years, working on a total divorce of animal products. That being said, the products in your shop are top level, the price pretty much reflects that but for one (irritating) point - many are made in Asia. I wish you would change that - I've put items in my cart, then removed them when I read the description in total.
