Breakfast for Dinner!

March  1, 2012

There's something about breakfast for dinner that feels like a treat. Is it the fact that it's easy to whip up? Is it the fact that most of the ingredients can be found in our pantries? Is it the fact that after a long day, a big plate of French toast is all that we need? Here are 9 breakfasts for dinner -- eggs, pancakes, waffles, and everything in between -- to treat yourself, your wallet, and your schedule. You deserve it.

My husband and I love breakfast so much we had it for our dinner course at our wedding! It was a huge hit. Overnight french toast, bacon, sausages, english muffins and nutella! After 5 years my friends still rave about the food.

Last weekend we did a dinner party where every course was taken from a different meal.
Breakfast - Bacon and eggs (as ice cream with melba toast and maple syrup)
Lunch - soup and sandwich (tomato soup, sandwich outside was parmesan tuiles, filling basil/goat cheese)
Snack - Cookies/coffee (almond rosemary cookies, coffee vodka)
Dinner - sous vide oxtails, celeriac puree, bitter greens, oven roasted tomatoes
Nightcap - 2 layer gelee of coffee and baileys

Appropriate pairings of course - starting with mimosas....

my mom used to make welsh rarebit on sunday nights. as far as I know, this is toast with cheesy/hollandaise sauce? mom's version was thick toast with a poached egg and very cheesy mustardy sauce. Awesome!
