One thing we’re absolutely doing to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Sipping on an Irish coffee. Ideally with a slice of cake in the same flavor. And if you didn’t know that was an option, don’t worry—now you do.

Skip the crowded bars and make something fun at home instead. Whether it’s a classic Irish coffee from one of NYC’s most iconic cocktail bars or a rich, coffee-infused dessert, these recipes bring all the flavor (and a little whiskey) to the party.

1. Irish Coffee Cupcakes

These coffee-flavored cupcakes get a little extra something from a whiskey soak after baking, making them super moist. The Irish cream frosting is smooth and just the right amount of boozy, and a dusting of coffee on top ties it all together.

2. Dead Rabbit’s Irish Coffee

A classic for a reason. This is the Irish coffee perfected by The Dead Rabbit, one of NYC’s most famous cocktail bars. Strong coffee, good whiskey, and a thick layer of whipped cream—it’s simple, but done just right.

3. Irish Coffee Tiramisu

Tiramisu already has coffee in it, so why not add a little whiskey? Espresso-soaked ladyfingers get layered with a mascarpone filling that has just the right amount of kick. It’s rich, creamy, and a fun twist on the classic.

4. Irish Coffee Bavarian Cream

Light, creamy, and a little fancy, this chilled dessert has all the flavor of Irish coffee but in a smooth, spoonable form. Top it with toasted almonds, shaved chocolate, or extra whipped cream.

5. Dark Chocolate Cake with Irish Buttercream

A deep, rich chocolate cake with coffee in the batter and Irish cream in the frosting. The frosting is smooth and just boozy enough to feel special.

6. Brown Buttered Irish Coffee

Another great Irish coffee with a bit of a sweeter riff. The secret lies within a brown butter-washed whiskey and, of course, using strong coffee.
