Summer Recipes That Call for Minimal (or No) Oven Time

July  5, 2013

We've scoured the web, found our favorite food blog posts, and now we're bringing them right to your desktop. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it.

Now that it's officially hot, we want to stay away from the oven -- but not out of the kitchen. We'll be using these recipes to make summertime treats that won't heat up the house. (With the exception of a few hand pies, because, come on -- they're hand pies.)

  • And for a variation on a theme, strawberry hand pies. (The First Mess.)
  • 4th of July festivities may be over, but you should still make these red and white popsicles. (Seven Spoons.)
  • Corn! Cucumbers! Tomato! Basil! Summer in a salad. (The Daily Muse.)

  • Don't be scared -- try herbed dill cashew cheese. It's good, Gena promises. (Choosing Raw.)
  • Speaking of raw, this salmon tartare will make any occasion feel fancy. (Manger.)

I think the picture for the panzanella link might be wrong? (I see tomatoes...)
