If you like a a good sear and eat it med rare...(for inch thick filet) sear for 3 minutes each side on med-high heat and place in oven @ 350 for 4 minutes, pull out and let rest 5 minutes before serving...add one minute in oven for higher temps( 5 mins-med, 6 mins-medwell and so on)
You need to sear it to color it a bit. Then place in 350 oven 10 to 15 minutes depending on desired doneness. Of course you should season it first salt pepper to taste.
