I need a fairly easy strawberry shortcake recipe

I've always used cream biscuits for strawberry shortcakes. Here's a reliable recipe:
Macerate strawberries with some sugar and a splash of balsamic vinegar.
Then assemble the strawberry shortcakes with some whipped cream and the strawberries. On hot days, soft serve vanilla ice cream is fantastic in this.
Look on the side of the Bisquick box. :)
Another great recipe comes from the America's Test Kitchen Family Baking Book. Almost any good cookbook should have a reliable recipe- try Martha Stewart, too. As long as you want a classic biscuit-style shortcake, I concur with @HalfPint- just use a cream biscuit recipe that contains a little sugar. Some people like to layer pound cake or angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. It's equally as tasty, just not a true shortcake.
