Bacon Bourbon Chocolate cake recommendations

I have volunteered to make the birthday cake for a friend's landmark b-day. He is enamored of the bourbon-bacon-brownies in the sweets shop below our office so I have offered to do a cake version. I typically use the recipes below for the chocolate cakes the kids continue to request birthday after birthday. The bacon part is not hard, cook it, crumble it and add it to the layers but how much bourbon can I add? I'd like to keep the cake in tact but still be able to taste the bourbon.

It was in the original question. "One bowl" is a nickname for it because you can make it all in one bowl

Monita where do we find the recipe for the 'one bowl' chocolate cake

Thank you both, I will add it to the batter and if it needs enhancement go the whiskey cake way.

This "one-bowl" chocolate cake is really delicious. (Made it many times as recipe tester for Martha Stewart Living.) If you want to add the bourbon into the batter I would recommend between 3-4 tablespoons

You could add bourbon to the batter, but another approach is to make a bourbon sugar syrup and brush the cake between the layers with it (like you might do with a whiskey cake).
