Can I make cake batter today, refrigerate it overnight, and bake it off tomorrow?

Will doing this adversely affect my results?

If you're pressed for time, you're better off cooking the cake the night before and either freezing it (for long-term storage) or refrigerating it overnight. Because of the raw eggs and leaveners, cake batter won't hold in the refrigerator.
