Is the any way to blend a jar of separated tahini without making a mess of it?

Scrape the ingredients into a bowl larger than The can that it comes in. Cut the brick like tahini into pieces if you can. Put a plastic top bigger than the bowl on top of the bowl and put it in the microwave for a minute. It’ll be really hot but it’ll blend really easily. I have messed with this stuff for 20 years. Literally. I made a mess every time. Would get oil on everything including my clothes. This was the simplest easiest and quickest way to break the tahini down. I then mix the smoothly blended tahini with honey and some Artisana coconut butter for the best halvah in the world!

scrape the contents of the can into a bowl and mix it up with a handheld mixer. It makes it smooth and creamy.

It's easy to prevent the problem- rotate the jar of tahini occasionally, top to bottom, bottom to top.

I think what Susan is mentioning is a stirrer on a lid that screws onto the top of a p nut butter jar. Crank and it mixes the contents of the jar. Cheap, comes in 2 sizes and works perfectly on tahini.

Sam, who often answers Hotline questions, has a special tool for this! (No idea what it's called or looks like, beyond that.)

If you can fit an immersion blender through the opening, put the immersion blender in, wrap a towel around any gap at the top of the jar, and blend away!

I had been considering this, so thanks for confirming. I didn't even have to wrap the opening; just put the blender as far down as it would go, hit "start" and just slowly moved it up and down until it was all blended. Worked perfectly.

Pour the oil into the food processor and then using an ice cream scoop scoop out the solids. Pulse until it begins to incorporate and then blend until smooth.

Any chance you could pour it over into a larger jar? Then you could stir it with a long spoon no problem.
