Smoked anchovies

While shopping today I found tins of smoked anchovies. Can anyone help with the difference between these and regular oil cured? How do they differ and what are some applications?

Hey Pat! Smoked anchovies are not as salty as oil cured; they taste like sardines + the smoky flavor.
We eat them just with a good sprinkle of lemon or on a buttered toast with onion and tomato.
