How do you tell if lining on a copper pot is tin or stainless steel?

The tin lining usually looks almost like you tell it was either painted on or applied by hand. Stainless lining has a much more manufactured look. The tin, when new, is also shinier/brighter than steel.

This suggests that it's likely tin: http://www.gourmet-web.com/BAUMALU-copper-cookware There's a link on that page to a fuller discussion of Baumalu cookware.

Thank you. The handle is iron and the rivets are silver in color. The pan is made by Baumalu.

If it was tin, the rivets would be copper. Sounds like yours is stainless. Keep in mind, I am no metal expert, but I did research on mine that I bought from a garage sale and that I
is the info I found. :)

If you've used it a few times, tin will discolor unevenly...sort of in patches. Also, tin is applied by hand and is marked unevenly. Stainless will have concentric marks where applied. What color are the rivets where the handles are attached?
