Do you rinse your grains before toasting???

Quinoa, yes. Though most quinoa now is said to have been pre-rinsed, I still rinse it. The hull contains saponin, a natural insecticide, which can cause intestinal upset. Rice, I cook with many different kinds and only rinse short-grain because it is so starchy. Millet, no. Wheat or rye or kamut or farro berries, no. Polenta, no.

The only grain I eat is rice and yes, I rinse both white and brown rice.
