Driving from NYC to Elk Lake near Lake Placid - any great places to stop for lunch/snacks?

Driving up with my boyfriend and my parents - would love a place to stop for lunch to make the 4.5 hour drive more fun and palatable!

Hattie's is a somwhat famous fried chicken/southern cooking hole in the wall in Saratoga Springs. During race season they also have a shack at the track I understand. Looks like they where even on TV with Bobby Flay.
