I have used the Gaggenau Vario 400 series for 5+ years now and have absolutely loved it. I just checked and it is still being sold which maybe means others are pleased as well? I notice they now have a new induction cooktop, the Gaggenau CX 491. It looks amazing. There is one top, no burner sections. Like the flat-tops at cooking school, but without the godawful heat those produced. That would be great, regardless of the size or shape of your pan, you get heat directly under it. You would want to check reviews though. When I was renovating the best source I found was the Kitchen forum on the GardenWeb. Looks like it's changed a bit but I am sure the same great people are there.
I have the Miele 36" 5-Burner, model KM 5773 and I love it. It's about an inch and a half --yes!-- thick, which means there's room for a spice drawer immediately underneath. It boils pasta water in a flash, but also has amazing heat control even down to the lowest level. This replaced a gas cooktop and was one of the best investments I've ever made.
