Do you mind sharing the recipe? Yellow and green split peas do not exactly taste the same -- yellow ones are sweeter, green are more herbal and savory (for the lack of a better word). So if you are very particular about the flavor and the recipe you are after, they might not be interchangeable. But if you do not really care about sticking to a particular recipe, yes... It's in the eye of beholder :)
