I'm smoking a trukey this year. Can it be reheated before carving once I reach my destination for dinner? Or will it dry out?

We had a smoked turkey last year and I reheated it in the oven without any problems. It was a little drier than a roasted turkey but still delicious. We did however serve it with cranberry sauce and mustard but that was because I think turkey should always be served with them!

Hi L Easterwood—I've never done this but after some research and my own experience with turkey, I would suggest carving the turkey when it's still warm then transporting it carved on ice (not necessary but it's easy to carve when it's still warm!) and it may be slightly drier, but I think it will still be okay—especially if you tent it with aluminum foil when you reheat it in the oven! And definitely make a gravy for it—that will do a lot to help it with the dryness if there is any! Let us know how it turns out!
