Yes! I've made it ahead many times. Just re-heat gently on the stove when you're ready to serve.

That should be completely fine! Keep it covered in the refrigerator, let it come to room temperature, and then mix it up a bit right before serving. You could also mix in a bit more warm cream right before serving to loosen it up a bit.
