Can I substitute espresso powder for brewed coffee in recipe? It calls for cooled, brewed coffee, but I don't have a coffee maker.

Just use normal fine ground coffee, put it in mug/clear glass, pour over really boiling water. Let steep for 15minutes-1hr until ground coffee deposited, and (very) carefully pour out the coffee water.

You can also make coffee without a coffee maker- use a paper towel for a filter, put it in a funnel and pour the hot water through.

Or cowboy style- put the grounds in a pan full of hot water, steep a while and filter through a paper towel (or cloth or coffee filter)- real cowboys, of course, leave the grounds in.

I would use the express powder dissolved in water, so that you don't change the liquid measure in the recipe. It should be fine.

Thanks! I'll give that a try and see how it turns out.
