Looking for a Canadian recipe for Crackberry Fool. Can anyone help?

Piercing I grew up with a dish called gooseberry fool , I'm sure you could substitute cranberries
2lbs gooseberries, 8oz sugar , 4pz water cook until berries are soft and purée , make a custard with 1 egg and 4oz milk cool whip 4oz cream . Fold everything together and serve
