i put to much tomato paste in a gumbo stew.what can i do to fight the acid taste?

used too much tomato paste I small can instead of one table spoon what do I do to get the concistiy right

Add 1/4 tsp baking soda then stir until bubbling stops. Add more as needed. Works like a charm without making it sweet.

Add some sugar to help with the acid and add water to thin the paste.
