Someone gave me a box of licorice flavored salt from Iceland. Anyone ever cooked with it before?

I completely agree with pierino above: fennel + fancy licorice salt = heaven.

I immediately thought of focaccia/ pizza bianco. I love the recipe "Pizza Dough with Honey and Wine" from Simply Great Breads. It is a grilled pizza recipe but if the weather's not great it works just as well at 525 on a sheet pan/baking stone. Top with olive oil and shaved fennel and finish with your salt!

I couldn't find the recipe on a blog, but the book is on Google Books at the moment pages 78-81 https://books.google.com/books?id=esuDAwxI2G8C&printsec=frontcover&dq=simply+great+breads&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj5l82Jrv7OAhUCPCYKHSOTDQUQ6AEIJzAA#v=onepage&q&f=false

OR just add some honey and replace around half of the liquid in a pizza/focaccia recipe you already know with a dry white wine.

I’d be tempted to experiment with the licorice salt and pastis, or one of the other anise-flavored aperitifs from the Mediterranean region. Not sure just what I’d try, but perhaps read about pastis-based drinks and see if anything sparks an idea. Or, make a fennel salad and/or pork chops and use the licorice flavored salt.

Have you looked at the saltverk.com website? They suggest the obvious--using it in cookies and cakes, but also encourage you to experiment using it in marinades. Their recipe for beets with licorice salt looks good http://www.saltverk.com/inspiration/spqih0cbo6cqf98t86k6gojw8fcyx9

Use it to finish or flavor desserts, as people do with salted caramel.

I have some vanilla fleur de sel which is useful in baking. You might try that. But it might also work in combination with fennel. Hard to say without tasting it.
