I need a delicious biscuit, bun or other bread recipe that is nut free and dairy free to go with butternut squash soup for my strictly kosher fam?

I am making butternut squash apple soup so something that will pair well with that. I have desperately tried to make dairy free biscuits an they were all disasterous. Please help me find the perfect pretty little bread for soup!

Hi! :)

I made a tutorial recently to make homemade bread (you can eat it with sweet food as well as any kind of meal):

I hope it can help you! :)

How about:
New York style rye crackers

Biscotti without nuts

Oatmeal cherry schmalz cookies from Michael Ruhlman (wild, but will play off the apples & sweetness of squash)

James Beard refrigerator potato bread (original calls for butter as the fat but I've made it a zillion times with olive oil and great results)

PS Forgot to include Molly Yeh's Challah gone a rye...the moistest and most flavorful rye bread I've ever made. Made it all last winter.

Not a roll or bun, but how about focaccia, cut into squares? No dairy/nuts, easy to do and great with soup. With butternut squash and apple soup, I'd sprinkle the dough with fresh thyme or rosemary, along with the salt and olive oil. Many recipes online - this one is particularly good: https://food52.com/recipes/28786-saltie-s-focaccia

Check out this biscuit recipe from Tori Avery's website: http://toriavey.com/toris-kitchen/2014/08/biscuits-buttery-or-dairy-free/

She has so many great recipes and I've had great success when I'm needing help.
