She originally posted it as a dish her toddler liked, but it's one of my standards now--and no one at dinner tonight is under 60. I made it in the morning, and we'll re-heat this evening.

I'm making chili this year for NYE. It's great left on the stove top and you can serve it up buffet style with toppings. Some of my favorite are: grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, minced scallions, tortilla chips, cornbread...you get the idea.

Chili is a practical and reliable crowd pleaser. Easily adaptable to number of guests. Cassoulet is terrific but probably too late to begin now.
