Should the peanuts for this recipe be toasted/roasted?  I have raw (but can toast).  Thanks!

Yes. Roasted unsalted peanuts.

I would use roasted, unsalted peanuts.  Raw peanuts should be boiled or roasted before being eaten or they can be bitter.
