can i skip white wine in shrimp scampi?

i really want to make shrimp scampi but my mom wont buy white wine for it so is it fine if i just skip it?

Replace the wine with some fish stock.

Sure! I always view alcohol as optional. Maybe a bit of lemon juice for acidity.
