I am not a gravy eater. But I found recipe for turkey gravy with port wine. Should I try that or stick with conventional?

If you like wine-based sauces and are convinced that all of your dinner guests will appreciate it, go for it. If some of your guests will be unhappy with anything but a very conventional gravy, perhaps you should reconsider.
One option is to make a small batch of port wine gravy and the majority of it in the conventional manner.
It's your call.
Give it a try but not for the first time on Thanksgiving. That is probably not the time to find out that your family does not like it.
