Oysters- 60 days past harvest date?

Can oysters be eaten 60 days after harvest date? I just bought some and came home to find the harvest date of 12-18-17. Not exactly 60 days but still seems a little long ago. I called and the lady told me they are good. 🙄

I would return them...2 months is a long time and who knows how they were kept before you purchased them. Be safe...not sorry!
