Safe or not??

My daughter and her friends are making a roast in the crockpot. They are using a jar of peppers that they opened a week ago and left unrefrigerated. Is it safe to eat if they only eat the roast and not the peppers?? I believe they are red roasted peppers.

Nope!

On a web site (stilltasty.com) which draws info from various sources (FDA, CIDC) there is no safe time frame given for open-at-room-temp.
Just sealed (various temps).
And open, but in fridge or freezer.
If they are unsafe and you cook with them, eating only the roast will not protect you.
Better safe than sorry.

Spelling.
That should read: CDC (Centers for Disease Control).
And the "them" is roasted peppers, commercial packaged, opened and left at room temperature.
