Recipe for these 5 ingredients?

I am left alone at home with only red lentils, salt, red pepper, tumeric, and garam masala. I don't have any onions, garlic, vegetables or other seasonings. Can someone give me a simple recipe that will taste good using the 5 ingredients that I have?

Hi Mr. Bret! To me, those ingredients seem like the makings of a great dal (the simpler, the better, in my book!). I'd probably fry in neutral oil a small pinch of turmeric with a bit of garam masala and red pepper flakes (to taste), until the mixture is fragrant but not burnt. Then I'd add some red lentils, salt, and water to cover. Bring it all to a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook for 20-30 minutes until the lentils are so cooked and tender that they're basically disintegrating—you'll want this to be soupy. Add more water as the lentils are simmering to achieve this creamy, not-super-chunky texture. If you have rice at home, I'd serve it with that. Otherwise I'd serve with naan, a tortilla, or in a big soup bowl with a spoon.

That would seem to exhaust the possibilities (assuming you actually have oil and a bowl)- you have basically one food item and some flavorings, so your possibilities are pretty limited.
