I agree that their updated notification method is #@*+. It was a whole lot easier previously. I mean a little bell- no big deal. Now you have to log in, do a couple of drop down menues and go hunting just to see if someone saved one of your recipes. Sigh! I would prefer to be reffered to as a cook & not a 'user'. Junkies or the movie Tron come to mind with that reference.
I thought the bell icon was extremely simple and easy to understand and use. The new system has me shaking my head *huh???* even after reading it three times.
Agreed, I tried to follow Nick's explanation and gave up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On the other hand, the simple orange bell never confused me-seems to work like any other platforms notification system.
Hi there! Thanks for your feedback. As you have noticed the activity feed bell icon is no longer in the global navigation. We found that the bell icon and its notification system was confusing for most and therefore we updated the experience to a more common notification system.
Instead you will now see a notification badge over the account icon in the global navigation when you have new activity in your feed. To access your activity feed simply click on the account icon in the global navigation and then click on the 'Friends Activity Feed' link. You will then be taken to your activity feed and will be able to see all recent activity. If you have further trouble with this or notice any issues, please let us know by writing [email protected]. Thanks!
