I have used this recipe for 50 years. You can find it in The Joy of Cooking. Everything is the same except for the paper, there is no paper.

Your remark made me curious, so I checked the recipe against my own copy of Joy, with a 1975 copyright date. Although it is similar, as one would expect most all Chicken Country Captain recipes would be, it is not exactly the same recipe. It may be possible that the recipe hails from a copy made by "Grandma Utley" for a member of the family who did not realize or did not pass along that information to later generations. Regardless, it is the recipe associated with the grandmother. Since there isn't any reason to believe any sort of deception was intended and not profit to be made- I say no foul no harm done.

My Joy of Cooking has a 1964 copyright. I do not suspect foul play. I have used this recipe since 1966. It is a terrific recipe. I highly recommend it because it is tasty and tangy without being too spicy. My favorite chicken recipe from this book comes a few pages earlier it is called French Casserole Chicken on page 470.
