Could I freeze the roasted can’t

I plan to make this soup for a family dinner in a few weeks. I have a large not very ripe cantaloupe right now that I would like to use for the soup. What do you think of the idea of roasting the cantaloupe now and freezing it until I make the soup? Thank you!1

I think that would work, though I've never tried it.
