What kind of flour do I use? All-purpose or self-rising?

I have a cupcake recipe that calls for 2 cups of flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Now I thinking it has to mean all-purpose flour with that much baking powder and salt, but wanted a second opinion. I don't understand why people won't specify which flour they mean!

That would be all purpose flour. You would not need baking powder and salt if it was self-rising. My experience is all purpose is the default flour unless something else is specified.

Thanks. That was my feeling also but just wanted someone to confirm it.
