Is it safe to eat/ cauliflower when the stems are green? I think I've had it in the fridge for 2 wks. Could I get Alkayl poisoning? Thx

The stem of a living cauliflower plant IS green, and the green often shades up into the branches below the white curds of the flower. I can' t see why there would be a problem.
