Agree with creamtea's hypothesis of what happened with this (pardon the pun) half baked recipe. Meanwhile, you wanted to make lemon coriander soup. Have a look through your browser and you'll find many recipes elsewhere, some with chicken broth base, some with vegetable stock or water. When I have to do a similar search, I look for sites I know, recipe ratings (minimum 3 stars out of 4), or highest # in parentheses indicating how many made or liked it. For example, one recipe for this soup has about 10,000 (not a typo) user endorsements.
Many, perhaps most, of the recipes are community-sourced, and anyone can submit a recipe. It appears that someone began the process back in February, saved their entry for later additions/editing, then did not manage to complete the process for whatever reason (unfortunately--it looks and sounds delicious). Recipes on the site that have been tested and found reliable generally bear the notation, "Test Kitchen Approved." (That said, there are many great recipes here that did not manage to make the cut in one of the F52 competitions that are also worth a try but that's another story...). PS: I'm a general user, not an editor or part of the official team!
Here's my final question: If no one is planning to get the original recipe back, then why have this recipe cluttering up your database? I did want a recipe that might have been reviewed by a test kitchen, if possible, or something that says this recipe passed peer review. Then if the best recommendation is to go to another website for the recipe, fine, because I did. If that is this website's level of confidence, then remove the recipe since only one word in the ingredient's list exist. Remove the whole thing, please. Don't be like Amazon and allow glaring errors to continue to exist.
Hi Ann, thanks for flagging this! As both Nancy and creamtea mentioned, this is not a "Test Kitchen Approved" recipe, so we can't speak to its completeness. Hopefully the author will see this and finish writing out the recipe—it does sound delicious!
