Can you Substitute vegan butter?

Can you use vegan butter instead of canola oil (or whatever is supposed to be the substitute for real butter) for this recipe? Is it still the same measurement for vegan butter as it is for the canola oil?

If you do not have oil, you can try vegan butter but like margarine and dairy butter it has a higher water content so it may not give you the best result.
If you are looking for a rich buttery taste for your baking I would suggest avocado oil.
