Is there any relation between Breyer's and Dreyer's brands of ice cream? Or do they just coincidentally rhyme?

Cute, but no. Breyer's started out on the East Coast, and Dreyer's was on the West Coast. There wasn't much of a problem until they both became national brands.

Not to complicate things further, but I'm pretty sure that Dreyer's ice cream is the same company as Edy's on the east coast (at least in the NY Metro area.)
Sadly, their names don't rhyme. ;-)
I think amysarah is correct about Dreyer's and Edy's!
