Will fish figs work as a substitute?

I’m wondering if I can use fresh figs. I’ve got a plethora that are ripe on the tree. How would it change the recipe? Thank you!

Lucky you!! Yes, fresh figs will work well. I’d skip the macerating step and wait to add them until the last 5 to 10 minutes of roasting time (depending on their ripeness). Hope you enjoy the recipe!
