Kale Replacement - I’m in Portugal

Elsy: can you obtain a green called couve? (pronounced "ko-vee")--I thought that was the Portuguese name for kale. (sorry if you already know this). But surprised to hear there's no kale there now- isn't the traditiional caldo verde made with kale? Perhaps it's too early in the season?

Elsy - yes, spinach would be fine.
As would other dark greens - chard, some watercress, even broccoli or broccoli.
