There are. You can choose a tempered glass with a silicone bulb, or a stainless steel with a silicone bulb- and I believe Norpro makes one of each style. I had one of each style, until the glass version met an untimely accident at the hands of a teenaged cook. I liked it because you could see the liquid level, which is convenient sometimes. But the metal is more durable, and forgiving. Silicone bulbs are also more heat resistant and longer lasting that cheap plastic or rubber. But be prepared to spend over $10 for a decent one.
