cookie spread didn't keep the shape

The flavor of the cookies is fantastic. However my cookies came out completely flat and spread. I cut the recipe down by using weight. I also refrigerated it since I wanted to baked in the morning after making the dough the night before. I know I made a few changes. I would love to make it again. Any idea on what might have caused it to completely flattened? Reducing the recipes? refrigerated? Love to get your thoughts. Is 5 sticks of butter correct? Most other recipes I saw use more like 4 stick for for the ratio of flour...

Holly, others who made them didn’t seem to have any problems with them. I’m not sure it’s worth the time to figure out why they didn’t work for you.

If I were you, I’d make them strictly according to the recipe and assume the changes you made affected the outcome. Truly, I don’t mean to sound unkind, but if you change a recipe, it’s often going to change the outcome.
